As a freelance photography engineer, Chris Witzani is an enthusiastic panorama photographer and multimedia developer. First attempts of shooting panoramic images with his Horizont camera during a trip around the world in 1992/93 sparked his interest in this format. In conjunction with multimedia applications, Chris began experimenting with QuickTime VR technology and starting receiving orders for client projects in the mid-nineteen-nineties. In spring of 2005, his agency, schnurstracks, which includes designer Dirk Arendt-Maiwald, organized the "rundum (all-around) Panorama" exhibition. There, the team showcased panorama photographs, the first swivelling panorama lamp and selected ceramic objects by Ivana Musilova, which broadened the context of panorama.
